Finding Ether

My coffee lulls me to a dreamy wakefulness. As the slanting golden rays of the sun touch the softly greying strands falling on my forehead, a thought floats across my mind. Why must we remember the sadness we thought was overcome long ago.

Not bitterness but just a taste of the unwanted, expired regret that swims like an ebbing tide in the mouth that has gone dry as it recollects the many times spent facing dejected solitude. Not from people in our core heart group but random people we meet across guest filled evenings somewhere. Their utter disregard of our existence creates a frost around the heart. And then the thought arises…

Who or what really matters? Why do we give that level of importance to someone that it can bring down your happy state of mind crumbling down to sand filled fritters!

All this ruminating comes from reading Khalil Gibran’s words that a voice cannot carry the tongue and the lips that gave it wings.Alone must it seek the ether. And alone and without his nest shall the eagle fly across the sun.

He’s actually right. When you peacefully sit to think and agree rather than argue, that is. Beyond sadness or dejection, comes a feeling of peaceful acceptance that advocates it’s ok to let go! You never know what any random person is experiencing or going through in a quest of their own.

But it’s easier said than done. Unless … you believe that in order for peace to enter, the chaos must exit.

And so the journey goes on …

Even though the existence of ether, this weightless feeling that permeates all, was nullified by Einstein’s highly scientific theory of relativity, each one of us is still trying to search for that effervescent ether in our own way. To attain a life of bliss within a loving circle that actually matters!

This lovely thought brings forth a smile of contentment as I sip my coffee and allow the sun rays to dance around me, waiting for the day to begin.

So go ahead, finish your coffee or tea or maybe a glass of detox water and make plans for an active fun filled day ahead because It’s your life. Never let others run it !

Happy finding your own ether !
